Somebody told me today that Corgi are supposed to be creating a model of a Bus Eireann LD some time next year.

Dublin Bus Models

What was the last Dublin bus model available to buy. I ask because I'm finding nothing new on the market. I have a family member working in a well known model shop in town and there is nothing in the magazine about new models. I've heared stories of evs and vts but nothing has materialised.

Did anyone see this at the show in Kilmacud last wk end? I will post pics tomor, it was possibly made in the 60's in Spa Road by someone with a steady hand, very well made but nobody I asked about it ever remembers seeing it even in head office. I feel it was in an office & not on public view, unlike the KD and tram which were on public view. A regular poster to here owns it (D1) but I feel it was not common knowledge, also it is damaged due to possibly a child sitting on it!! but bus...

Seen a model of R428 in the Model Shop in Belfast today. Looks very well. One also of AV118 in Airlink colours and AV24 in current tour livery.

London Transport Guy Arab II

I see in this month's Model Collector that EFE have released a Guy Arab II Utility Bus in London Transport livery. It's planned for November release and is based on G148 (GYE 92) on route 79 to Aperton LT Station via Wembley and Kingsbury. The reason this drew my attention is because I never knew that LT operated Guy Arabs. Details on British model buse site of a renumbering of the above item. Model will now be issued as UKBUS0030 and not UKBUS1047, seems the renumbering is to do with the fact that Volvo is not to the same length of the Trident casting. Full details at British Model Buses

News on British Model Buses website is that Jotus.com have announced a resin and white metal kit of the unique twin staircase Volvo Ailsa B55 MK111. 500 will be produced. Announced today is AM103 due for release Nov! It is normally found on the FATIMA route in Drogheda! Also to excite is an ALX400 in Belfast Metro Pink & off white. That is also down as a Nov release. Bus stops set are due any day....

A few are comparisons with the Drumwell casting commissioned by New World First Bus that EFE released as 26901, and a few more are of the Corgi OOC 44702 model of the SLF Plaxton Pointer Dart. They make very interesting viewing....

I note there is a built Ryanbus Bombardier KD on eBay just now and it is currently at £56. Stg....how often does one see that model. I must consider getting rid of my two spares, at those prices. and still a few days to go,eh ?

AW (i think AW3)

Seen a model of an AW (bendy bus) in a model shop (funnily enough ) in Lurgan near Belfast yesterday. Think it was AW3 cos i have the same one at home which i got just over 3 years ago and it is AW3. It was on sale yesterday for 27 pound sterling. I think i paid about 45 EURO (give or take a few euro) for mine which i got in Sligo 3 years ago.
