Dublin City Council to consider congestion charges

A close friend of mine recently received a speeding ticket for diving 65kph on the N32. While i know the limit on this road is 60kph, I think personaly this is unfair. This is a long straight road with mostly fields either side, lots of other backroads are 80kph. Does any other member think 60kph is too low a speed limit for this road? This should be at least 70kph from the M1 roundabout until Bewleys at least.

Had a spin on the new N1 dual carriageway through Ravensdale yesterday.
Given that the old N1 is still in-situ to the east and that a 120 km/h (not 'k/mph' as you see on some signs in housing estates and retail parks) is in place, why wasn't the road designated as a motorway?
Is it because the M1 in the north veers west at Sprucefield and they didn't want to confuse tourists or cause political offence? When the A1 from Loughbrickland to Cloghogue is finally upgraded, will it still be...

The National Roads Authority has announced a 10c price increase for motorists using the M50 toll bridge on Dublin's West Link from the beginning of next year.

The toll will go up from 1.90 to 2 in January - an increase of more than 5%.

Motorists who do not have pre-paid tags in their vehicles will also be charged up...

There is widespread traffic diversions in Connemara following the collapse of a bridge in the centre of Leenane.

Motorists are being warned that they now face diversions of over 110km.The century old stone arched bridge on the main Clifden to Westport road collapsed shortly before 5pm.

Galway County Council says one of the arches was swept away following three hours of torrential rain; the second arch collapsed a short time later.

Left Busaras at 5.45pm sharp this evening and got to the north end of the tunnel at 5.56pm, good going til then, but the traffic just came to a halt on that short section of M50 before the M1/M50 junction.
Is it worth it d'you think to stay in the M50 (left lane just out of the tunnel northbound) lane and go over the interchange? I was sorely tempted to do it as a 747 heading for the Airport did it, but I'm not sure he made much headway doing it, even though it would have given him an...

Direct Route Toll Roads and the N.R.A. have been accused of stealing the Watergrasshill bypass on the N8/M8 , a team of E.U. investigators arrived in Cork on monday on foot of legal procceedings by the E.U.

Passed an Overturned truck on the N32 at bewleys roundabout. Bad dealys from M50. Avoid area if possible, divert via Oscar Traynor Rd. Hope driver is ok.

Macken Street Bridge

Work started this week on the new bridge, using a jack-up barge to start the foundation work.

It should really be called 'the Guild Street Bridge ' as that is the actual alignment.

It will be a swinging bridge to allow access to the berths

Heard on the 98FM traffic news earlier that there were traffic lights out in the Dorset Street and Five Lamps area. Anyone who stayed on Amiens Street saw a Garda directing traffic at the Five Lamps and the traffic flowed the best you ever seen. I went on up the Malahide Road and Oscar Traynor Road to get to the Airport, all in a very respectable 25 minutes! Not bad for a Friday
