Bus Éireann fleet allocation as of 7/11/09

It's worth a shot, but there is plenty of information on this board about various buses and coaches being allocated to different depots, but I think we can all agree that it would be nice if there was a "one stop shop" where we would easily identify what depot had what buses rather than trawling through the search function and wondering what is where or going into the various fleet types and only getting one particular type at one particular depot(though I prefer this...

Thought i would get a thread going of the buses of this company over the past 20 years or thereabouts. Hope some of you will be interested as it will help us to identify some of the buses we see but might only catch their reg number and not the fleet number. I will start off with the PL's.

115 - Clonard? - Bus Eireanns new real time info.

Hey all,
I was just trying out the real time info and noticed that the last 115 of the night is only going to Clonard, not Mullingar. Thats just a mistake on the part of the real time info thing or is the driver only going that far unless someone asks for a stop after Clonard?

As well as that, is that what those Siemens devices on the coaches are for? Its almost like a telephone with the number pad and has a list of stops. Is it some kind of GPS tracking system?

Will the SP's be going through any sort of a re-furb programme at any stage? I ask, because the ones I am familiar with, which have been doing massive mileage from day one since new, are now starting to look scruffy, both inside and outside, and also some have a bit of vibration which can be felt while sitting from the middle of the bus back, which I wonder if it is the start of some major parts beginning to need replacement.

VR1 is in service today on the 16.00 from Cavan to Dublin and doing the 19.30 from Dublin back to Cavan. Complete with school stickers, this ex Drogheda service bus is now a school bus in Cavan. Must've been very short of buses and a very last call to take a VR on service in late 2009.

Perhaps not best suited to this forum, but can anyone tell me what routes the MLs were allocated to when new to Cork, and also when they got transferred out of Cork?

Also, were we ever allocated any MEs?

Passing through Carrigallen yesterday I noticed VP328 outbased there where it covers routes formerly worked by the Erne Bus Service. These routes are some of those listed for the chop by Bus Eireann and the local communities are opposing this.

I know this bus is now scrapped/withdrawn, and i know it had been a Waterford bus, i think mostly outbased around Rosslare/Wexford and back in Clonmel for a while way back in 2002 or 2003 some time. Ex Cork bus DPC3, which was lying 'withdrawn' or better word 'stored' is now in service in Dundalk. She was on the local route 100 from Dundalk - Drogheda - Dundalk late this afternoon. (5/6/7pm)

LD232 made the trip to Donegal town today. LC7 was officially on it, but broke down in Navan, think it was having trouble with its gearbox, wouldn't go into gear or something, but the next 109 local bus behind it which was going to Kells about 20 or 30 minutes later was LD232, and all the passengers were from the bus to Donegal were transferred onto the decker, which brought them all the way to Donegal and will be on the 15.00 back to Dublin this afternoon.
