Schull, Goleen, Kinsale, Cork Airport, and Waterford are all branded. Spotted LC28 today with branding for Cork/Waterford.

Branded is not the best solution. About ten minutes ago one of the Kinsale branded SCs left Ballinacurra on a 261 service.

Suprised this hasn't been mentioned, as this is weeks old now, but a lot of the Cork SCs have route branding, SC275 for example has been branded for route 237 Cork - Goleen(previously Expressway route 047 on what's now called LS(Limited Stop) services).

Others have been done for route 236(formerly the 046 for LS services) & I think I saw route 249 branded at some stage as well.

During a complete overhaul the interior is done as well , VWL 103 only got an external and mechanical overhaul. The problem with the new livery is that is is applied differently to every class of bus , hence each type must have its own paint diagrams , Broadstone has responcability for these and it is interesting that that some types have no diagrams , given the slow-down in the repaint cycles its possible that some types will not be in service when they come up for repaint.

Oh my lord that really sounds like lack of planning on the part of Broadstone. How could the not have paint diagrams for a bus that is 9 years old? Doesn't make any sense to be totally honest. The bus looks great but I have never seen a bus company with two different liveries for a city bus. Back when the Bombardiers were launched on to the streets of Dublin and Cork in 1981 there was no policy to repaint the VanHool buses green. Dublin Bus is pretty good at repainting its fleet and...

Unfortunatly VWL 103 had the same problem as SR 45 , Capwell would have painted them into the new livery but there are no paint diagrams for the new livery for either type , diagrams were sought from Broadstone but so far none exist.
VWL 103 did have fog lights fitted along with VWL 104 for outbased services.

Its odd that it was not repainted in the new livery. Age should not matter as they are either going to keep it or not. If not, then why paint it all? Certainly they could have put the new logos on it.

For a 9 year old bus VWL103 looks very well. Did they refurbish in the interior as well?

I think the stripes livery suits Bus eireanns city buses (includind DD's) very well better than the new one. The new one suits coaches more.
If bus eireann can turn all of its buses out like VWL103 then laziness and not bad maintenence standards were at the route of the problem.
Maybe the DP/C's aren't so bad after all.

I take it that the 04 reg SCs not to mention some of the 07 reg SCs and VWLs will be done eventually as well then. Are there any plans to repaint the 04 SRs and DDs?

As far as I'm aware all SP's will recieve the new livery over time

Slightly of the topic but if buses from 04 onwards are to receive the new livery wil the 05 SP's receive the new livery aswell or wil they be staying in the old livery

There is a bit of confusion about the VWL repaints as the directive from Broadstone states that only 04 reg buses onwards are to recieve the new livery , however since the 01 - 04 VWL's are identical (and similar to the 07 - 08) there is considerable debate as to which VWL is to recieve which livery

Yes I would have thought 103 should have been repainted in the new livery too, but then again this is the company that repainted VWL134, then 136 followed by 141,142, 144 and 140 into the new livery, then promptly decided to paint(not in chronological order) 122,123,124,125,131,132,133,135 and 137 in the old livery but then when 138 was stripped of the Vodafone AOA it got the new...

No pics but I can assure you I haven't seen a 00 VWL look as good as 103 does in about 6 or 7 years.

Compared to when they were new 103 has the "Cork city service" branding (amazing a repainted bus got branding, normally they all lose it when they get painted) in black and the grey that goes around the bottom of the bus is now Ringsend grey (Ringsend wedding buses used to have their own interpretation of the grey in Dublin Bus Wedding livery), the wheels are all...

Where did VWL103 get it's overhaul? Does the overhaul and repaint take place in Capwell or does BE send the buses off to a third party. I often wondered how that works for refits. Any pics of VWL103?

What other buses (or were there any other buses) damaged by the fire which took the life of SP31 in Cork a few weeks ago? Was SR45 the only one damaged, or are there other one's which will be returning soon?

SR45 has returned to service after repair from the fire in Capwell last month. VWL103 has also returned to service after an accident. Both buses are in showroom condition.

VWL138 has finally lost it's Vodafone AOA in favour of the revised B.E. livery. ( http://freddeanjnr.fotopic.net/p58579831.html )

SC211 is now branded for the airport service.

PD40 was taken to the scrapyard on a low loader last week. This is the start of a clearout of the withdrawn TEs and PDs.
