List updated again , many more casualities , including TE 1 , will be interesting to see what will become of Bus Eireann's first new bus .
Anyone know if VC 105 will return to service after rolling over , or should it be on this list? |

VC105 will be back on the road, not for quite a while but i'v been told by alot of CIE officials that she will be back. Surprsingly not one single pane of
glass was broken on the bus execpt for the windscreen. It was an absolute miracle that there were no serious injuries or fatalities on the bus. All she needs
is a new windscreen and a bit of work done around the bottom-front of the bus and around the front-right wheel, unless God forbid that the chassis is bent on
her. Many people say that it was a schoolbus that crashed, it was NOT a schoolbus, it was a service bus, timetabled Mon-Sat, it was a service bus, Route 480,
15.35 Derry-Donegal Town via Carrigans, St.Johnston, Raphoe,Convoy & Ballybofey. It was carrying secondary-school children from The Royal & Prior
school in Raphoe to Stranorlar/Ballybofey, and dropping off the children at their houses along the way. There was a total of 24 secondary school children and 6
other regular passengers on the bus at the time of the accident. A car suddenly overtook another car or cars at the last minute and slammed head-on into the
bus, (on the bus's side of the road) pushing the bus into oncoming traffic, (its a very narrow bendy road, just about a mile or two outside Ballybofey on
Letterkenny side, near Kilross Cross),as when the car hit the bus the steering box and also the tyre/wheel (front right side, under bus driver), were BLOWN OUT
of the bus, therefore the driver had no control of the bus obviously, the bus just kept skidding toward the other side of the road. It stopped for a split
second on the ditch on the opposite side of the road, then toppled over onto its right-hand side into a field. As i said, it is nothing but a miracle that the
passengers and driver of the bus are stil alive. The driver of the car died, R.I.P. I was on the bus at the time this accident happened incase u hadn't
figured out by now. Mon.26th-MAY-2008. 16.30-16.35hrs.

Just to let u know that MH9 is now back on the road again. This bus was sitting right behind PL81 which was burned to the ground (litterally) in Cavan bus stn
about 2 months back. MH9 got the face badly burned off her, and recieved its new windscreen from a very obliging donor MH12 which is scrapped up in Stranorlar.
MH9 spent a week or so in Drogheda last week, and decided to go for a run to Navan and Trim last Saturday. It has now returned to (a very welcoming ha ha)
Dundalk. Also, any idea where ex-Cavan bus MH3 is now? Is she on schools or what and where is she? Haven't seen that bus in an age.

PD60 & PL80 | #29 | ||

Hey boys, just been looking through the first page of the Withdrawls list and i noticed PL80 is on the list. What happened to her? Why was she withdrawn and
when? Was it just due to age or was there a problem wit it? She's an ex Dundalk /Monaghan bus. And to you know where she is at the minute? And also, why
the hell was PD60 withdrawn? She was a great bus. MH24 replaced her on schools in Navan 2 years ago, and PD60 replaced PLS67, which is now scrapped in
Stranorlar next to MH12 and 3 KR's. So what happened PL80 & PD60? Where are they at the moment? PD58 & PD59 still in operation ?

Lads I think ME210 is withdrawn - its was on the bank in Bstone a couple of days ago.

It is very possible that ME 210 is withdrawn as all Mercedes mini-buses are due to go , it will be interesting to see what happens to them as they are not only
fit for further service they are a high demand type and if they are scrapped without justification there may be serious consequences under the semi-state
disposal of assets rules (which I hear Dempsey is eager to have a crack at as part of his departments "savings")
More casualties added to the list , ME 210 not added yet , the LS section is getting VERY long now , and many PD's and PL's expected to join them soon , schoolbus withdrawls may slow after the summer as the promised 161 new schoolbuses are now unlikely to go ahead due to Dept of Education cutbac.......I mean "savings" (its almost like the KR fiasco all over again , at least nothing was ordered this time) |

Regarding ME210 , when I saw it , it looked well, very clean as if a new coat of paint was applied.(Most likely wasn't)

The company's policy is to withdraw MH's wherever possible , you would'nt believe what it costs to maintain them

But surely KD191 there must have been a problem with MH23? I loved that bus. She was a flyer. I'm not a big fan of the MH's but there was 3 or 4 very
good one's. MH24 used to be a very good bus but in general she was a disaster as she used to give alot of trouble. Do u know how long ago was that 23
withdrawn? Do you know why or where she is at the moment?
