Nice pic, looks strange. Water drains fitted so perhaps future conversion to open top is in mind.

Yes, David McConn told me it is to be used closed-top over the summer for shuttles and various odd duties, then it will be converted to open-top over the winter ready for next years season. They have not decided what they will be doing with RA299 yet, it could be converted, or it might be refurbished and sold on. Aquavid |

Are they new wheels or just painted ? They look great ! |

Would I be right in saying that some Olympians with a roof need water drains ?

E.N. I understand these drains are for future conversion into open-top tour duties.

I think you misunderstood me AV320.
What I meant was - do some Olympians leak in heavy rainfall ? |

Oh sorry E.N. To be honest I'm not sure, I've never been in the situation of where the rain has come in on the upper saloon.

Following accident repair RV417 often had a problem with water intake in the upper saloon.

I visited Happy ALs in Birkenhead who now have RAs 182,183,185,187,188,189,193,194,195 on Monday and Tuesday of this week and one of the drivers told me a
couple of them leak badly when it rains through the window fixing rubbers !

Yes the AX buses have had major problems with water leaks which is why windows are sealed in on the production line. The 90 RHs and the 95 RAs were bad
offenders for water ingress.
