I have been looking for a new camera in the last few days and i wanted to get a bit of feedback. I want a Digital Compact With 18x optical Zoom between 7 to
10.1 megapixel under the 500 Euro mark. The cameras i am looking at are the Nikon Coolpix P80, Fujifilm Finepix S8000FD and the Panasonic FZ18. I am leaning
towards the Nikon P80 but i want to know what you think or have you had any of these cameras yourselves and thought they were good or bad. All feedback
appreciated.

sony have a fantastic high zoom camera for about the 400 quid. has 15X optical zoon, lithium-ion battery, 10 megapixel. It's in harvey normans at the
moment and dont be afraid to haggle with them to get a case and extra memory card thrown in. I've been looking at a lot of them lately and that looks like
one of the better high zoom cameras. still not as good as an slr though! for the same money on e-bay you'll get a sony Alpha 350 digital slr with a lens
and everything. thats 14 megapixel. Also for about the same money in currys you'll get an olympus dslr camera with a lens...... another good camera!

Olympus SP 570 UZ at pixels for 550€ with 20x zoomOlympus SP560 at pixels for 450€ with 18x zoom.I prefer the brand name and would pay the extra few quid, i worked closely with fuji and kodak many years ago - enough said. Mind you in this day and age a VW Golf can be less reliable than a Fiat, if you get my drift! If your going to spend big money, shop around see everything that is available. Pixels, Halls, Harvey norman, Powercity etc etc etc, they all have websites with prices. Happy hunting. |

Olympus cameras are good, I use a SP510UZ at the moment and will probably stick with them. As for buying, well to date I have use Pixmania(.com) on the web
and have got good bargains to date. Two weeks back I got a 250 gb external harddrive for less than €85 and delivered in four days. The same piece of
equipment is for 'sale' at the moment in Harvey Norms or somewhere for €120. Its worth shopping around.
Good luck! |

Some things seemed so innocent years ago - nowadays if the context is misconstrued, a man seen taking photographs of children would raise some eyebrows!
