If Donnybrook are getting all these AX's,presumably against RA's, will that mean Donnybrook will be getting less EV's from this years order? Heard they were to get 21. |

Saw AX605 in service on the 51's on Aston Quay on Monday but thought it was a € duty.

Well then if Conyngham Road got 4 AXs then they must be only due 13 EVs when they arrive later this year

It will just enable P/Boro to get more newer buses this year which is probbably the reasoning behind it, they would no way be giving these buses up otherwise,,
I really feel for P/Boro to be honest, what with them having the oldest fleet and having had hardly any buses for the last two years (sarcasm).
In my opinion the new vehicles should go to the garages with the oldest vehicles, none of this shuffling about with one garage giving another one 2 year old buses to replace their 10 year old buses for no other reason than they can get the new EV's/WR's, but obviously C/Road and Donnybrook are in no position to turn this down. But something I don't understand? If these vehicles are spare why has it took them so long to be transfered if it's not to ensure they get th new vehicles that are coming in? Saying that, it looks like they have given too many buses up, or someone cannot allocate properly, as last night there were 97 RV's on the 38/38C/236, and this was WAY outside peak hours, in addition the last few weeks VT's on the blanch route seem to have diminished in numbers quite a bit to what they were when they were first delivered, curiously this started happening when orders for more buses were revealed.

These RV's were in the 350-355 range and therefore were P/Boro vehicles. whilst the 38C/236 are not officialy low floor, they are always marked in as a low
floor vehicle, hence my comments that this was due to a shortage, not so long ago the same duties were VT's, then they changed to AX's, then AV's,
now RV's

Just to confirm, Donnybrook and C/Road will still get their EVs, at which point these AXs will be used elsewhere, either for new serv ices (if authorised) or to replace RVs. Btw, delivery of the EVs is slipping, likely to be the very end of September at the earliest, but more more likely early or mid October now. Aquavid |

RV's are on the 50 & 56A daily... these are also low floor routes...
The appearance of an RV on the 38C/236 is not due to any shortage, despite what you might think. Phibsboro has enough buses to operate its services, and the re-allocation of AX's is order to get value for money out of expensive low floor vehicles which cannot be deployed as extras. Isn't is better to have more low floor units available for service then older non low floor stock.

Harristown have 9 that need to be replaced this year/early next, they are RV357-365, 360 and 362 in particular are fantastic buses. RV400-401 will have to be
replaced not long after as well.
