Nigel,
Just some minor points to add. I could never equal your knowledge of technical specifications.
As far as I am aware, 62-67 were all w/d in 1953 and replaced by the new double deckers of that year.
285-288 were w/d in 1960.
300/5 were w/d when damaged beyond repair by fire.
The five ex-CIE Leylands went into service in Clontarf after the takeover and were all w/d in 1959.
299-307 you are correct to say w/d up to 1970. I have previously stated all w/d by 1969, but I note that 306 was in service to Feb 1970.
289-298; the Clontarf 7 and 295 in Drogheda were all w/d in 1967. Michael Corcoran records 1967 for 297 and has no date for 293. In practice, these were w/d much earlier, and rarely saw service in the 1960s at all. 297 was used on the skidpan.
Your details on platform doors are, I as understand it, correct. Some other records have been incorrect about which had them from new and which were rebuilt.
In the 1960s, buses in Dublin were 289 - 298 (except 295) and 301-4. Based in Drogheda/Dundalk were 295/9 306/7 433-442.
437 was w/d in early 1964, the rest of this batch lasted at least to end of 1966.
Typical seating capacity was 56 or 58, except the long buses 299-307 seated 66.
