".....and the Liffey as it stank like hell". I take it you mean Bagatelle's "Summer in Dublin", strangely enough heard it just the other day on the car radio. And the man says "When my humming was smothered by a 46A.....", obviously a KD !!!!.

However, we could argue that the (Original) 8 & 50 and the 30 were equally well known among others. Having lived in Crumlin and still visiting, I actually still find it strange to get used to the "Single Deck" 150 ex 50 & 123 ex 23, and the 50 running deep into Tallaght.

In my heyday we had 18(Ballyfermot & Sandymount), 23(Ballybough), 23A(Distillery Rd), 50(Crumlin), 50A(Drimnagh), 50B(Walkinstown), 56(Walkinstown Ave), 77(Colberts Fort) and a little later 77A(Seskin View Rd).
Today at those same bus stops in Crumlin we have actually a better choice of services...18, 50, 50X, 56A, 77, 77A, 77X, 121, 122, 123, 150, 151, 210 the odd Bus Eireann 126 and Duelway service 505.
