So, we want your buses, but you will put them as we tell you?

Is this a catch 22 situation? Is it an option for DB to say: right, run all buses exactly to the timetable and no running short (i.e. in this case to D'Olier St). The people will get fed up and want to know why so many buses are running late/not turning up. Then DB says to them, this is what we want to do...but the city council won't let us.

Its infuriating to see so much unnecessary congestion, that is exactly what it is. For my own part I've sat in Gardiner St for 45 minutes only to get round to Beresford place and Amiens St to see...nothing, yet the lights go through the same nonsensical sequence over one of the tightest 2 lane left turns I have to do anywhere in a bus. And that is only one of many in Dublin alone. Other faults are unnecessarily narrow lanes that 2 cars struggle to get by, Parnell St heading to PSQSouth.
I have used the tunnel on a few occasions. My strategy now is that if there are any delays on the road from the Port, I'll go up Sheriff St and terminate at Connolly and point the passengers in the direction of Busaras.

Does anyone with authority care other than a few hundred metres of O'Connell St looks good..? From what I see DB (and CIE as a whole) has very little influence in the planning of anything and, like the rest of us just gets told what to do.
