I must state that I agree that the BE driver didnt technically do anything wrong!

In that stituation C236 that only option for you was to take up a following position, i.e. move back far enough from the vehicle in front so as to allow other vehicles pass you out, rejoin the road and allow them to take up a position to pass out the bus although this may lead to tailgating it means you arent breaking the law and putting peoples lives in danger. If the road is moving at a slow speed its just the way it is and you have to wait your turn.

Personally I think the hard shoulder option should only be for cars. They are not as wide and can stop a lot quicker. They also dont have the possibility of have 80 souls on board.

I WAS following the DD (not tailgating), and as my destination was only a couple of miles up the road, would happily have stayed in that position. However the bus driver, for whatever reason, provided the opportunity to (safely) overtake the bus, and I completed the manoeuvre without risk to myself or other road users. The overtaking traffic comprised just one vehicle. Had there been on oncoming bus, truck or boy racer, I simply wouldn't have taken the chance.
