Now have a look at this excellent postcard, I think from around 1959. The nearest R is definitely R642, JRI 72. Two new RAs, 5 Boltons, a TD type R (nearest Worth's jewellers, and an R800 down at the Savoy heading towards the camera. R672 is on the 16A to Rathfarnham Lower, the nearest RA is on the 7A to Sallynoggin and the R with the VP wines advert is on the 20 to Bulfin Road. Other adverts visible for long gone products are; Boston cigarettes(on the 1st Bolton and on R642), Globo Tea, Garveys Sherry, H. Williams supermarkets, Capital Tea, Heitons Coal, and MH Pools.

Knowing John Hinde's policy of enhansing his postcards, I have doubts about the pink Anglia van and the maroon Ford as well as an extremely blue sky, although the shot was taken just after midday according to Clery's famous clock. As for Nelson's Pillar, it had but a few years to go before its destruction in 1966.
