I meant to mention it before, but looking back at all of these old photos and postcards, the buses all seem to be in excellent condition, not a dent anywhere. My memory of the ARs in C. Road on the 23 was that they were in a terrible condition until around 1957/8, the time of their last visit to Spa Road. Thereafter, they were kept quite well. However, the TDs on the 22 and the 50A were always pristene. As for the GNR fleet, it was always turned out well, with the exception of a sighting of one of the 433/439 batch in Drogheda one day, which shocked me, it was very shabby and faded to light blue! I couldn't believe it, being used to the high standard set by Abercorn Road.
