I saw the consultation document yes, basically they are going to do what used to happen, with 170s running to Ipswich, and passengers change to an EMU or a MK3 set to get to London, which is pretty much how it used to be a while back, although at that stage some of the 170s that NXEA now has were with Hull Trains so they have a few more now than they used to have. They will then likely revert to the old timetable from Ipswich to London that was used circa 2004. However it's likely that they will face stiff opposition, but I hope that they will manage to pull it off, but it should never have been changed 5 years ago.

They also want to run some EMU's to Norwich to increase capacity also, but the Noefolk passengers are very fond of their MK3s, and whenever an EMU ran there in the past people would refuse to get on them, and with the ones with 3+2 seating they would take up two seats where there was three in a row and refuse to move if someone wanted to sit there saying that they deserve some space and that it is a disgrace that they don't have tables - as they get on at the first and last stops I don't think they always realise the problems with capacity further south so I can't see it happening but sooner or later MK3's need to bow out.

I'm not working in East Anglia these days but I do go back often as I have family and friends there, as I lived there for about 4 years whilst working before coming back to Dublin about 3.5 years ago now. I used to use the railways reguarly to travel to and from work and I saw quite a decline happen.
