All right guys, my first reaction is that it is an AR all right. The only doubts in my mind are that AR2-11 had sliding ventilators in the windows, this bus has half-drops which were fitted to some of the ARs on visiting Spa Road in the late 1950's. It could of course be AR1 which always had half-drops but the cab area looks more like AR2-11. My only problem with this theory is the fact that the cars in the photo, with the obviously "touched-up" colours, seem much older than late 50s vehicles but of course that could be possible, cars weren't changed that often in those days I am sure. Also, the TDs have the wartime white wings, which lasted until the early 50s, as opposed to the small white stripes which were the norm thereafter until the demise of half cab buses. I don't know when the tramlines were dug up in O'Connell St., but I do remember them being dug up on Emmet Road (Inchicore) in the late 50's.
