From what I've been reading it seems NXEC attempted to buy their way out of the operation by offering £100 million on the basis that ending the concession was consensual, however Lord Adonis was having none of it and the talk now is default on one and you default on all. The impression is generally that this whole consensual thing was that NXEC weren't defaulting and therefore couldn't lose their other contracts. I think this thing will end up in the courts as NXEC have put on their press release that they sought counsel's advice and they cant have their other ( currently profit making) contracts taken away. DFT have a different point of view. On top of all this NX will be losing Roger Bowker to United Arab Emirites and their £1.2 billion in debt. Hence the recent sale of Travel London to Ned Rail for £33 million. NXEC have not made a great impression what with withdrawl of catering services and the recent £2.50 reservation charge along with a lesser known charge to use the first class lounges of £20! All smacks of shameless money grabbing
