WEll yes and No GSI.....Presently we do not have a Government and the Country`s fate is in the hands of the Council of State who will advise An tUachtarain on any difficult stuff that night spring up.

However the day to day running of the country continues under the able auspices to the established Civil Service.

Au contraire Billy. We continue to have a government.

Article 28, subsection 11 of Bunreacht na hEireann provides that:
1 If the Taoiseach at any time resigns from office the other members of the Government shall be deemed also to have resigned from office, but the Taoiseach and the other members of the Government shall continue to carry on their duties until their successors shall have been appointed.

2 The members of the Government in office at the date of a dissolution of Dil ireann shall continue to hold office until their successors shall have been appointed.

Therefore the current Taoiseach, Tanaiste and Ministers all remain in situ until the new government is formed.
