"It is a total waste of Garda Resources to deploy several members of the "Traffic Corps" to O Connell Bridge each day merely to "Observe" a rag bag collection of RTA infringments whilst rolling their eyes heavenward and heaving big long suffering sighs".

I totally agree on this BIlly. And I am surprised that this issue is not more prominent in the media. Who the hell cares whether Enda Kenny brings in 2,000, or 20,000 more Gardai if nobody has a clue what to do with them.

My father would agree with you also. He was stopped after Christmas in that very spot in his car based on the fact that he was missing a stop light. The ensuing lecture and humiliating he received took over 20 mins (and for the record he was perfectly courteous to the members of the force involved), including, full inspection of the road worthiness of the car, breath test, tax, insurance and licence check and full account of his movements that day. He was mortified and a complaint is still being processed.

His attitude is that he paid his taxes in the 1980's to put these kids (which is what they were) through school and look at the jobs we have given them and the way they are allowed to behave. He was completely mortified and felt demeened, and I agree completely with him.
