Yes I agree with wyth in that the Scanias are constructed to a low standard you don't need to go across the pond to discover this as our Omnilinks(SLs) in Cork rattle worse than the 01/02 VWLs but these are 8 years old while the SLs are less than a year old. They are also missing bits of trim(SL10 is missing a good few trim pieces inside) and the nearside mirror causes a lot of problems, quite a few of the Cork SLs have had to have these replaced. The Omnilinks are completely unsuitable for the Cork city service, not nearly robust enough in stark contrast to our much better VWLs, especially the 99/00 type which are great nick internally considering many have more than 400,000 miles on the clock. They should be transferred out at the earliest opportunity to other depots that would not have them under the pressure Cork has them under and give us back the Volvos we transferred to Limerick and Galway.

Volvos/Wrightbus are much better buses(bar the WV/VWM midibus which is junk though that really was Volvo's fault) than the Scanias, the Cork ones, especially the 99/00 ones are solid rattle free reliable quick machines, a pity some are under maintained because when properly maintained they are teriffic buses, the VWD is something else and I'm sure the VGs in Dublin are just as good if a little more basic inside.

When you think that Scania does the SP type which is undoubtedly the best coach ever to have joined the BÉ fleet it makes it all the more disappointing that they got it so wrong with the Omnilinks/Omnicitys.
