Here's an older view of Leeson Street I bet not many have seen before!  I have seen pictures of the city gate before, but not as clear as this, it's a mock castle built especially for the royal visit of Queen Victoria in 1900.  The tram lines and tram poles are in evidence, and each view points towards the city.  The gate stood at the city side of Eustace Bridge.  I imagine it was knocked down again soon after.  It certainly wouldn't have been conducive to fleets of three axle VTs running under all day!
