Thanks...looks like the SLs seem to cover most of the major routes in the city with the 6, 7, 10, 10a and 14 all now having new buses. The 8 and 8A also
getting it's SL and VWD allocation
Maybe slightly off-topic but, its a bit of a shame, is it not, that Limerick and Galway did not get any SL's, and that Cork were the only one's to
get them. Both Galway and Limerick are using the MC's (00 D reg), which are a lovely powerful bus and although i've only been on a few of them but i
have to say that i do like them, but the DPC's and DWR's that Galway had and the DWM's and VWM's that Limerick had were scrapped/withdrawn and
were all about the same age, although we all know that the DPC's would not have been the best choice of bus to keep. I know Cork still have 3 or 4
DPC's left but i don't think they do much work these days do they?? But Athlone have DPC5, DPC6, DPC7 & DPC8, which were the 00 D reg long type
DPC's and they are in good nick, and the only small 02 reg DPC still in operation is ex Waterford DPC101 which is on the town service in Drogheda.
I've only been on a few SL's, i like them, prefer the AM's but i do like the SL's, and the 07/08 reg VWL's are quite a good bus too and i
haven't heard anybody ever complaining about the new VWL's, or the SL's or AM's for that matter.
but these are both now fully withdrawn, with parts etc missing from them, lying in high grass in Dundalk at the minute.
On re-reading your post again though I'm beginning to wonder is there an imminent transfer of deckers from Broadstone?
