While on a pivate hire job yesterday with a '06 MAN Beulas Coach I met and had the pleasure of lunch with a Derry based Ulsterbus driver.
Having viewed my coach he began a rant against the new Ayats coaches and branded them "Yellow pack buses"! - a reference to the downmarket groceries brand of years gone by.
He cited various reasons including lack of a radio (a trait that also befalls the Scania Intercenturiy's apparently), luggage door on the wrong side and the severely limited AS-tronic gearbox (No manual option or even start off gear option like on the standard MAN chassis fitted with the same box).
Not having the oppurtunity to travel on or study up close these coaches, I wonder could someone enlighten me as to how true all of these complaints were.
Other than fleeting glances on the road I haven't seen any of the coaches standing still but thought they looked impressive and would have thought that they would have been better than what my lunch date described.
