The Realignment of the Malahide Road (R107) / East West Distributor Road / Upgrade of N32
This scheme is a joint Dublin City and Fingal County Scheme to serve the North Fringe Lands of Dublin City and the Belcamp Lands of Fingal. Atkins have been appointed consulting engineers to prepare a preliminary design and compulsory purchase order for the scheme.
In June 2006 an option (Green Option) for the scheme was published and comments were invited from the public. The submissions were examined and alternative proposals have been examined. No recommendation on the alternative proposals has been made to the Elected Members. However a briefing has been made on two further scheme layouts - the Orange and Purple options - to the local area committee on 15th March 2007 (report attached below).
Further assessment of the Orange and Purple route options is to be carried out before a final recommendation is made (scheme layout route options attached below).
This scheme is being made under Section 50 - Roads Act 1993 (as amended) and will be submitted to An Bord Pleanala together with and Environmental Impact Statement and Compulsory Purchase Order for approval.
