Dublin Port Tunnel 10k Run - December 10th 2006
The Dublin Port Tunnel 10k Run (under IAAF/ AAI rules) will be held in Dublin, in association with Clonliffe Harriers Athletics Club and the Dublin Port Tunnel Project This run is a once in a lifetime event, a totally unique experience, a 10k road run in a 4.5km tunnel under the streets of Dublin!
The run is being held to mark the opening of Dublin's Port Tunnel the largest ever civil engineering project undertaken in the Irish State. It is the longest urban road tunnel in Europe having two bores 4.5km long.
The Course:
This is the one and only opportunity to see it up close on Sunday 10 December 2006 - before it is open for business as a designated route for Heavy Good Vehicles. The Race start will be at East Wall near the Port area, run the 4.5 km length of one tunnel, popping out at Santry before returning through the other tunnel to the finish back at East Wall (near Dublin Port).
To entry, go to www.activeeurope.com Registration is 25 (including handling fee). You will receive an acknowledge receipt via email and your race number once payment is confirmed. Your number and final race pack will be posted to you in late November. Please ensure your address is correct and take good care of your number. Entry to the start area at East Wall will be strictly by official event number only
