Dublin Airport - Change of Bus Stop |

The bus stop for routes 41, 41b, 230, 33n and 41n serving Swords will be moved on Monday 21st January. The new location for the bus stop is now out the door from the arrivals hall and through the atrium. |

And what will now be using those stops? Aircoach would be my guess.

Aircoach have already moved their Belfast service to the right of the main exit doors, not sure where their city service will go. It would make more sense to
move the city bound 41s to the other side of the Atrium so tourists have to go out of their way to miss the 747/748 to find them. Plenty of other cities do
this.

I wouldn't agree Mark.
It makes much more sense to have all of the citybound buses in the one location. Moving the Swords bound buses away will remove all of the confusion that has taken place over the years as to whether such a bus goes to the city or not. |

I agree with Donnybrook Observer. Long ago, city buses did not serve the terminal at Dublin, and it was a nonsense. Ordinary staff had to walk quite a distance
to get a bus. Then they were moved to the departures road. The coach (now the 747) dropped off at departures and looped around to pick up at arrivals. Moving
all buses to the arrivals level was a sensible move, particularly as traffic volumes grew, and as it was accompanied by a ban on cars at arrivals level. The
move to the far side of the atrium is unfortunate, but regrettably we have built the car park too close to the terminal, and it is not possible to accommodate
the volume of buses now using the airport on the arrivals road. I agree that all citybound buses should go from the one location; and that it avoids confusion
by having the Swords bound buses on the other side. Even better would be to get rid of the 41 via airport. Have a range of bus routes starting at the airport
and let the 41 run directly from Swords to city. This will all change again when Terminal 2 opens, and presumable all buses will serve this terminal on the way
to Terminal 1.

The move of the buses at Dublin Airport is to facilitate the repair to the footpath serving the outer stops. This included the Swords and Portmarock
services and the Aircoach. I understand that when completed the stops will return to normal.
