I travelled on SP's 36 and 47 (both ex-tours) on route 20 today, both are now in the new colours and have DMD's fitted. There are about seven ex-tours
buses on this road now, which have replaced all of the long serving VG's.
What was interesting was that, for the first time in years, not one Callinan's bus was on the 20 today. Every bus I saw was a 2006 SP, there was not one private. This appears to be a consequence of the cutbacks
The 18:30 to Dublin (SP47) pulled out full up having been told by the stanceman that he had to take all passengers, including those for Oranmore and Craughwell. There was always a relief on this departure on a Saturday, as it is very busy with shoppers. The driver managed to accomodate everyone too, which probably goes to show that when effort is made to reduce costs it can be done
