According to the fleet list, the following RV400s remain: RV 433 - 435 448 457 463 - 479 497. August edition of "Buses" records RV433 - 435 as off in
Summerhill and RV463 - 467 off in Clontarf. I understand that RV468 and RV497 are now off in Clontarf. That leaves 13 RV400s in service:
C Road - RV469 Ringsend - RV448 (the lowest number) RV470 - 479 Summerhill - RV457. That is as far I as I can work out. It may not be up to date. Amendments welcome!

I notice that all garages seem to be withdrawing RVs in number order, except Ringsend, which is withdrawing RV530s while keeping the RV470s in service. Any
idea why this is?

It could be to do with the fact that RV470-479 spent most of their workings lives prior to arriving in Ringsend on peak Euro Duties out of Broadstone/Harristown, and therefore probably have less mileage on them, than some of the RV53X's that they are withdrawing from use at the moment. Remember some of the RV53X's spent time in Phibsboro when new prior to moving to Broadstone or Harristown, and wouldve operating on all day services in their early days. |
