Folks if anyone has a problem on this site please contact either myself, Aquavid, or Gavin as moderators. We do not condone posts attacking any other members and have never done so. If you can't abide by the rules of this board, then don't post on it. We pay for the site ourselves and offer it as a vehicle to discuss Irish transport. For clarity, none of us have any connection with Dublin Bus professionally.

We have moderated this site in a very "light" manner. However, I have to emphasise that we want this board to be viewable by everyone - in other words it is a family friendly forum. Therefore if people start posting offensive material they will be banned, full stop.

Of course everyone has their own points of view and perspectives. Criticism is important, but I think it would be fair to say that regurgitating the same criticisms over and over again does frustrate people, and I think that is part of the problem in this case.

We also have to remember that as a company Dublin Bus have been very generous to the enthusiast community over the years. It would be a shame if because of people's posts on this site if that were to be compromised. By all means feel free to make criticisms - I've done so myself as necessary - but try to remember that at the same time many of us have enjoyed the various "last runs" that have taken place in recent years that the company have been very kind to operate at their expense!! Unfortunately due to various actions by members of the enthusiast community Bus Eireann now has a zero tolerance policy. Therefore I would strongly suggest that people think before they post.

There is a balance to be struck here and I will say that focussing on the mechanical deficiencies of individual vehicles is not something that we (as moderators) view as the sort of material that we want Garaiste to be used for.

Of course there are deficiencies in the way transport companies operate, but as I say please, if you are highlighting something, try to remember not to bite the hand that feeds you.

There are other sites out there that delight in a more confrontational approach. That is not what Garaiste is about. If you do want to go down that route feel free to visit them.

We welcome a healthy debate on Irish transport, but try to keep personal feelings and confrontations to yourselves.

PLEASE now can we continue as normal - Aquavid, Gavin and I have full time jobs ourselves and much better things to be doing than having to constantly review this board for petty arguments.

Again if people have a problem - send a message to either myself or Aquavid, rather than potentially stirring things online.
